We successfully secured planning permission for the change of use of a ground-floor retail unit from Class A1 (Shop) to Class C3 (Residential), alongside the erection of a single-storey rear extension and the conversion of the property into three self-contained residential units.

At the outset, we advised the client on the planning feasibility of the proposal and developed a planning strategy to maximise the site’s residential potential while remaining compliant with local planning policies. Our involvement included advising on the proposed materials palette, redesigning the front elevation to enhance the appearance of the building, and preparing a comprehensive planning submission. We produced the architectural drawings and Design and Access Statement, managed the application process, and liaised directly with the local authority throughout. Through a carefully considered design and planning approach, planning permission was successfully granted, unlocking the site’s redevelopment potential and delivering three new homes.
